Objectives of the Practice –
The Context-
The New Education Policy has focussed to make India a knowledge superpower whilepreparingits students with the necessary skills and knowledge. The needs of the industries are dynamic in nature and itis a need for us to change and modify the curriculum, pedagogies, and evaluation proceduresaccordingly. With the transformations taking shape, we are obliged to move towards OBE (Outcome Based Education).
While the companies come for campus or when the students unveil their entrepreneurial ambitions, it is expected that the students possess skills and knowledge at par with thedemands of the challenging market. To address this, IIMR started a new concept in 2018-19 called Special Interest Groups (SIGs)/ Skill improvement Groups which provide certified skill courseson the latest and upcomingdomains and technologies. The Special Interest Groups (SIGs) Certification Programs are based on Industry requirements for advancedtechnologies and tools. To enhance industrial knowledge and to keep up with the latest advancements theinstitute has invited/appointed experts from the industry for training. The SIGs are planned in such a manner it becomes a part of the academic learning ladder. Right from the first year SIGs are conducted during academics as a regularpractice.During the situation of Covid-19 when offline conduct of SIGs was not possible, the institute adopted asystem of online training on various software, and technical sessions were conducted wherein expertstrained the students from far-off areas could learn the skills.
The Practice
SIGs are conducted on MS Excel, Design Thinking, Financial Analysis, Country Risk Analysis, Stock Market Analysis (both Fundamental and Financial), R Programming etc are conducted to make the students aware of the latest development in the world of management domains and technology.

The campus is developed as an eco-friendly campus with the mainpurposes of making the campus-Green, Pollution Free, Noise Free and with the facility of WaterHarvesting and escalating the Eco-Social goal of “Go Green”. Every stakeholderis madeaware of theimportance of nature through its “CLEAN AND GREEN” practice.
