Skill Improvement Group (SIG)

Skill Improvement Groups (SIGs) is a dedicated domain of IIMR, wherein the students are upskilled as per the industry-demands. These groups aim at enriching students with areas of Data Science, International Trade, Digital Marketing, Stock Markets, Corporate Finance, Tally etc. Over the years, these Industry-Academia bridging activities has promoted skill building amongst the students which has in turn paved their ways to successful placements and entrepreneurial ventures of IIMR Students. Below mentioned SIGs on latest research areas and technologies are offered by Indore Institute of Management and Research:

1. ASEAN Exim and Trade Risk Analysis– This SIG is specially designed to offer deep insights on dimensions including analysis of institutional and international data and the key indicators clubbed with their various opportunities and risks considerations that are essential considerations one must possess in order to perform well in the international market. Detailed investigation of some of the ASEAN countries, like –Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam adds to the student’s orientation about the contemporary and future market trends and economic developments globally.
2. Digital Marketing– This SIG aims to comprehend specific knowledge in the areas of digital marketing communications and Familiarize students with to methodologies, tools and technologies involved in digital marketing.
3. Introduction to Corporate Finance– This SIG aims at identifying the fundamentals of corporate finance and helps students to understand the basics and concepts of corporate finance
4. Fundamental Analysis of Stocks– This SIG is aimed at building a basic understanding about the financial health of the company. It also enables the students to analyze the financial statements of different companies of various sectors.
5. SPSS- Main objective of the course is to provide students with a basic knowledge of the program in order to be able to use it in a socio-economic context and in the exploration of corporate data.
6. Basics of Excel– This SIG helps students to understand basic excel functionalities, Skill building for the final semester students towards enhancing the employability quotient, helps get stuff done in easy and efficient ways, and increases the proficiency in excel which in turn helps in Major research projects and corporates
7. Basics of Design Thinking– This SIG helps in building the basics of Design Thinking. On further trainings, the students will be enabled to apply the design thinking approach and have the ability to model real world situations.
8. Advanced Excel– With the basic knowledge of Basic Excel, this SIG furthers the students capacities to move to the advanced levels of excel. This SIG further trains the students on the higher technical aspects of MS-excel
9. Technical Analysis of Stocks-This SIG is designed to train the students with the important aspect of the analysis i.e. Technical Analysis of stocks. It familiarizes students with the technical charts of different companies of various sectors.
10. Accounting Application in Software through Tally– This SIG aims to provide the practical knowledge of the Accounting as a subject and gives a hands on training to the students. To make students capable to create company, enter accounting voucher entries and print financial statements, etc. in Tally ERP.9 software
11. Export Import Documentation and Procedure– This SIG is specially designed to impart necessary skills to the budding management professionals to meet the growing requirements of trained personnel in the field of exports and imports. The SIG aims at providing a comprehensive coverage incorporating all the important areas relevant to Foreign Trade Policy, Procedure and Documentation. Course coverage includes Foreign Trade Policy, Export Procedures, Export Documentation, Customs Procedures, Export Trade Operations and EXIM Finance.
12. Financial Statement Analysis- To understand the information contained in financial statements with a view to know the strength or weaknesses of the firm and to make forecast about the future prospects of the firm and thereby enabling the financial analyst to take different decisions regarding the operations of the firm. Calculating the financial measures of corporate performance. Participants will learn how to interpret financial statements and use financial terms and ratios confidently.
13. Data Visualization with Tableau- This ISG is designed to help students to examine, navigate, and learn to use various features of Tableau.
14. Recruitment and Compensation– The SIG is designed to provide with the role of technology and data in Human Capital Management. The students are trained for 4Ts of Task, Theory, Technique and Technology to help achieve business objectives.
