  • Case Writing Workshop

    The Case Writing Workshop held at the Indore Institute of Management and Research (IIMR) from January 23 to January 27, 2024, was an intensive program aimed at enhancing the skills of participants in crafting effective case studies. The workshop provided a platform for faculty members to learn and exchange insights on case writing methodologies, best practices, and emerging trends.

    The primary objective of the workshop was to equip participants with the necessary tools and techniques to develop high-quality case studies that are relevant, insightful, and academically rigorous. By engaging in interactive sessions, participants were encouraged to enhance their understanding of the case writing process and explore innovative approaches to addressing contemporary business challenges through case studies.

    Key Highlights:

    • Expert Sessions: Renowned scholars and experienced case writers conducted expert sessions on various aspects of case writing, including identifying suitable case topics, conducting research, structuring cases, and writing teaching notes. These sessions provided valuable insights into the nuances of crafting compelling narratives and analyzing complex business situations.
    • Group Exercises: Participants engaged in group exercises designed to facilitate the practical application of case writing principles.     Expert Session 1:

    Renowned case writing expert Dr. Vivek Sharma delivered a session on “Introduction to Case Writing Methodology and case development.” Key topics included identifying suitable case topics, conducting preliminary research, and formulating research questions. Participants engaged in a hands-on workshop on “Developing Case Study Outlines.” They worked in groups to brainstorm potential case topics and outline the structure of their case studies.

    Expert Session 2:

    Dr. Aradhana Chouksey, a seasoned case writer, conducted a session on “Conducting In-depth Research for Case Writing and techniques to write a case.” Participants learned about various research methods and techniques for gathering primary and secondary data.

    Participants participated in a workshop on “Drafting Case Study Narratives.” They collaborated to draft the narrative sections of their case studies, focusing on storytelling techniques and engaging writing styles.

    The Case Writing Workshop at IIMR provided participants with a comprehensive learning experience, combining expert sessions, hands-on workshops, and collaborative activities.
