Google Classroom
IIST has adopted Google Classroom to promote e-learning & teaching and online learning management system. Google Classroom is a blended learning platform for schools that aim to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way. It was introduced as a feature of Google Apps for Education following its public release on August 12, 2014.Its aim is to be a paperless educational system.
IBM Academic Initiative
We have become a member of the IBM Academic Initiative and have access to software, hardware, training, tools, books and tons of advantages. We get to learn of the hottest jobs, keep up with the latest technologies, and reap the benefits of open source. The Academic Initiative is an educational enterprise by IBM.
Computer Society Of India
We are the member of CSI. On this platform we conduct different workshops, seminars and trainings. Computer Society of India is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals.
IBM Career Education
We have got MoU with IBM for Career Education Program. In a world, where there is growing demand for skilled IT professionals, the key to transforming today’s students into tomorrow’s working professionals is to develop industry capabilities right from foundation level. To this effect, the Career Education Program of IBM (under Software Group) has caused revolutionary changes in academia, rapidly building industry-relevant software capabilities that organizations need today and tomorrow.
IIT Virtual Labs
We are conducting virtual labs programs organizes by different IITs from all across the country. An Initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Under the National Mission on Education through ICT, Objectives of the Virtual Labs.
Quality Enhancement in Engineering Education (QEEE)
IIST is conducting sessions of QEEE for different subjects organized by IITs. The Committee for Reforms in Technical Education under the chairmanship of Professor Ashok Jhunjhunwala, IIT Madras, has been constituted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) with a mandate to bring about comprehensive reforms in technical education.
TCS Academic Interface Program
Following the tradition of India’s most admired corporate group TATA, TCS has been involved in strengthening the Academic Community around the world through TCS – Academic Interface Programme (AIP). AIP has been involved in various programmes, to bridge the gap between campus and corporate.
MOOC-Massive open online course
A massive open online course (MOOC) is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web. In addition to traditional course materials such as filmed lectures, readings, and problem sets, many MOOCs provide interactive user forums to support community interactions between students, professors, and teaching assistants (TAs). MOOCs are a recent and widely researched development in distance education which was first introduced in 2008 and emerged as a popular mode of learning in 2012.
